Rocksource ASA targets offshore Colombia
The E&P company Rocksource ASA has targeted offshore Columbia and will position the company for exploration and production licenses on the Columbian continental shelf on the Caribbean and Pacific coast, by participating in a larger collection of seismic data together with the seismic company InSeis AS - Offshore Columbia there are large prospect acreages available which make this an interesting target area for Rocksource.
These areas have to a little extend been explored and the potential for commercial discoveries of oil and gas are considered to be interesting, says CEO Martin Bekkeheien.
Rocksource is a technology- and know how driven oil and gas company based on knowledge within Electromagnetic Imaging `EM`, geology and petroleum research. Rocksource shall search and explore for oil and gas with larger precision, to lower cost and lower risk than today`s technology and approach allows. The company has defined the following three areas as strategic success factors: Technological advantage, market access and access to capital.
This Colombian project is within our strategy to develop Rocksource`s E&P offshore portfolio in addition to our producing and prospect areas onshore USA says Bekkeheien.
In our release June 9th we described our cooperation with InSeis AS with regard to developing geophysics data in selected areas as a tool for Rocksource`s strategy to seek attractive exploration and production licenses.
