Rocksource begins CSEM acquisition on blocks 3/2 and 3/5
Rocksource ASA Group (“Rocksource”) and DNO will undertake a Controlled Source ElectroMagnetic (CSEM) survey on blocks 3/2 and 3/5. These two blocks comprise license PL441 which was awarded to Rocksource and DNO as part of APA 2006. Rocksource holds 40% of the license interest, and DNO as operator holds 60%.
The license is located on the southern margin of the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. The CSEM survey is part of the work program for the license. The survey commenced on the 27th June, with operations estimated to take approximately one week to complete.
Rocksource has organised the survey which is being undertaken by emgs using their vessel the Stad Angler. Rocksource will further contribute to the partnership by applying its proprietary technology to handle the electromagnetic (EM) data and interpret the result of the survey.
This survey, together with the survey on block 31/8 recently announced, completes the EM acquisition on the two licenses that Rocksource was awarded in the APA 2006.
The results from these surveys will form a key component in the evaluation of the prospectivity of the blocks. Further details will be reported as Rocksource and the partnerships make decisions regarding continued activity on the licenses.
