Hesthammer says that `The company`s technology department has made significant improvements to their algorithms for integrated processing and interpretation of EM data. The improved algorithms have been tested on real data and show
a very good correlation between EM data, seismic data and well data. In this regard, it is important to realize that
the EM technology is not any longer an uncertain technology for hydrocarbon identification.
The concept is now testedand proven through numerous EM acquisitions (by companies such as emgs, Ohm and AGO), for example over the Troll Field in the North Sea (published data). The challenges are related to optimized use of the technology, which is a key focus for Rocksource. We have made significant progress towards solving some of the challenges associated with `EM-problematic` scenarios, such as salt, multiple reservoirs, shallow gas and more. The new results are also promising for bringing EM into production`.
